What would you say is the no.1 mistake people make when choosing a faucet for their home?

If you ask me, it’s overspending on frills that add little value.

Today, I’ll do my best to help you avoid that and still get a top-notch Delta faucet.

I have two missions in this guide:

  1. Choose & recommend the best Delta kitchen faucets – units that I would spend my hard-earned money on
  2. Give you some clarity about which of these is right for your home (and which would be a letdown or an overkill)

If I do a good job, this Delta faucet review will show you the perfect faucet for you.

If You’re in a Hurry – My Top Picks at a Glance

First things first – why choose Delta?

It’s one of the highest rated faucet brands I recommend to customers when they ask (did I mention I’m a plumber?).

I’ll talk more about why Delta stands out (both in terms of quality and value) in the individual Delta faucet reviews.

Instead of going into the nitty-gritty here, let me just list the awards that the brand got in the last few years:

  • Manufactuer Partner of the Year from WATERSENSE® – awarded to companies with an uncompromising commitment to EPA standards (U.S. Environmental Protection Agency)
  • Money-Saving Product Award from Buildings Magazine – presented to companies that spearhead cost-saving production
  • Edison Awards, Silver and Bronze – awarded to companies that lead the way in innovation
  • Chicago Skyline Award from the Public Relations Society of America aka – Delta got this award in 2015 for their touch technology
  • Adex Gold Award from the Design Journal – presented to Delta for their Temp2O technology
  • Most Innovative Product Award by Better Homes and Gardens – a prestigious award presented to 30 home products each year

This tells you more about Delta products than I could if you gave me a day.

What makes Essa better?

If you gave me a limited budget and asked me to get kitchen appliances with the best value for money, this faucet would be the first thing I’d get.

It features all the innovative Delta “stuff” that makes your life easier and none of the razzmatazz to jack up the price. I know this is an overused phrase, but it’s at the sweet spot between usability and price.

It will also be the choice of those who prefer clean, minimal design over curves.

PROs:

  • Great quality-price ratio
  • Stylish design
  • Excellent temperature control
  • Easy to use
  • Easy to install

What makes the Leland better?

I’m always cautious when recommending a zinc faucet. However, based on all the data I have, Delta’s zinc units are every bit as durable and live as long as those made of stainless steel.

I can’t be certain on whether it’s the quality of the alloy or the Diamond Seal, but it doesn’t really matter, as long as your faucet works as advertised. And the Leland does, in all aspects that make a difference.

On top of the features we’ve seen in the Essa, the Leland comes with a more powerful sprayer and a limited lifetime warranty. It doesn’t get much better than that.

PROs:

  • Great value for money
  • Looks great and will “work” well with most interior design styles
  • Low leakage percentages
  • Superior durability and longevity
  • Easy to clean
  • Warranty terms are second to none

CONs:

  • The force of the spray stream takes getting used to
  • I’ve seen a small percentage of defects with the Touch2O system

  • Dual-joint with a 24-inch reach – great for filling pans and pots
  • Dual shut-off valves
  • ADA Compliant (ADA – Americans with Disabilities Act)
  • Simpl single-hole installation

What makes it better?

This delta faucet will appeal to those looking for more than a faucet. The design is a work of art in its own right.

It might not be the most convenient unit for a primary faucet, but as a pot-filler, it’s second to none.

Granted, it’s not cheap, but if you forego the premium finishes (like black stainless or champagne bronze), it’s still affordable compared to similar units from more expensive brands.

This faucet has one of the highest kitchen flow rates.

PROs:

  • Sleek, stylish design
  • Long reach
  • Smooth joint operation
  • Lifetime warranty

CONs:

  • Versions with premium finishes are expensive

Finishes: Champagne Bronze, Polished Nickel, Chrome

Features:

  • Patented Diamond Seal Technology for longevity and leak protection
  • Magnatite docking for the sprayer head
  • Protective sphere of the ShieldSpray Technology provides a powerful stream with minimal splashback
  • InnoFlex PEX supply lines are integrated into the faucet (InnoFlex PEX is the name delta uses for their system that allows for a more efficient 3-hole installation)

What makes Delta Cassidy better?

This Delta faucet is pretty similar to the other units in the Top 10. The one thing that stands out about Cassidy is the universal design that can work well in both classic and modern interior design.

I’ma fan of the Polished Nickel finish and it’s a mystery why Delta doesn’t offer it with more of their units.

PROs:

  • Smooth powerful stream
  • Durable
  • Long life-span
  • Sound warranty terms
  • Stylish design

CONs:

  • Costs a peg more than similar models from Delta

7. DELTA Keele Pull Down Kitchen Faucet

  • 360 Degrees swivel
  • Retractable hose, 20 inches long
  • Touch-Clean sprayer head
  • Indicators of hot and cold
  • Two-function flexibility – spray and stream
  • Dual valves in the sprayer

What makes it better?

If you read through this whole guide, you’ll remember that I mentioned that some of the great value proposals among Delta kitchen sink faucets get lost in the noise of people pushing more expensive models.

The Keele is a prime example of that.

It comes with all the key technologies that make Delta faucets better at a lower price point and, more importantly, have a user satisfaction rate of over 96% in the existing Delta faucet reviews. I almost never see that kind of number in any appliance I review, let alone a kitchen faucet.

The only reason it’s not at the very top is that not everyone will like the minimal design. If you do, Keele will not disappoint.

PROs:

  • Flexible use – full rotation
  • Stable docking
  • Reliably leak-proof over time
  • Works well in both modes – smooth stream and powerful spray
  • Temperature markings

CONs:

  • Only one – you won’t notice it in the pictures, but the pull-down sprayer is plastic

Who is it for?

This classically designed pot-filler might be your choice if the interior design of your home leans towards vintage. It can also be an accent piece in animalistic kitchens.

PROs:

  • Classy design
  • More affordable than similar pot-fillers
  • Flexible design – long reach, yet closely foldable
  • Lifetime warranty
  • ADA Compliant
  • Very easy to install

Typically, unis with a side sprayer feature a much more basic design. This one is a looker and conversation starter.

PROs:

  • Elegant design
  • Matching spray head
  • Powerful stream of the sprayer
  • Wide-spread handles

CONs:

  • Water control not as precise as in single-handle units

Delta Faucet Reviews: What to look for in a Delta kitchen faucet?

In this section, I’ll go over some of the key innovations built into a Delta faucet. And help you zoom in on unique technologies that’ll make your life in the kitchen a lot easier. The great thing is that Delta offers something for all the different types of kitchen faucets.

Innovations of Delta kitchen faucets

Touch2O Technology

Touch2Go is a unique signature feature on the faucet market.

You can turn your faucet on or off with a gentle touch. It saves a ton of water and keeps you from spreading the mess from your hands to your faucet.

Delta kitchen faucets use the same touch-sensing technology found in modern smartphones. They are extremely sensitive and can even distinguish between a tap and a grab. In other words, you can pivot the spout or adjust the temperature without turning your faucet on or off.

All the best Delta kitchen faucets come with Touch2O as an optional feature.

VoiceIQ

The VoiceIQ audio-command technology allows you to control your faucet by pairing it with other connected home devices. As of Jan’ 01 2018, all Delta faucets with Touch2O are compatible with Voice IQ.

You can connect any Touch2O Delta faucet with your Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant. This allows you to use voice commands to turn your faucet on or off, use metered water dispensing or issue container commands.

You don’t have to install any apps or go through complicated setups. All setup is done via web pages you can access on any phone or computer.

After setup, you can use these pages to customize commands and monitor water usage.

VoiceIQ recognizes liters, milliliters, ounces, cups, pints, gallons, and quarts. It also understands fractions like ½ cup or ¼ cup.

ShieldSpray

When it comes to spray patterns, Delta introduced a (welcomed) innovation for laser-precise cleaning with 90% less splatter and mess.

You still have your regular stream and spray, but you’ll never use them again when you see what ShieldSpray can do.

It activates at the press of a button and it will save you hours of soaking and scrubbing.

DIAMOND Seal

The idea behind DIAMOND Seal technology is simple – reduce leak points and last at least twice as long as the industry standard.

The secret lies in a one-piece InnoFlex supply line topped off with a diamond-coated valve. It allows you to get no less than 5 MILLION uses from your kitchen sink faucet!

MagnaTite Docking System

All Delta pull-down faucets come with a powerful integrated magnet that snaps the spray wand tightly into place.

Delta decided to follow Kohler in that regard and rely on powerful magnets rather than the so-called “reflex” system employed by Moen.

The reflex system provides more flexibility (says Delta), but in my experience, both systems work equally well. It comes down to personal preference.

One advantage I saw in MagnaTite docking is that the hose never starts drooping over time. Since the magnet removes any strain on the hose when not in use.

What it means for you

Delta offers some of the most jaw-dropping innovations on the market, without pumping the prices sky-high, like some of the competing brands.

It gives you the flexibility to control your kitchen faucet with your voice, touch, or the old-school way. Or all three!

Superior spray patterns reduce splatter and time wasted scrubbing your kitchen. And touch operation keeps your faucets safe from greasy and soapy hands.

The tough diamond-coated valves make them last for ages with no leaks whatsoever.

Finally, the strong magnetic docking mechanism keeps the water hose in top shape in the long run.

About Delta

Delta Faucet Company was founded back in 1954 by Alex Manoogian. That year, the first Delta ball valve single handle faucet was introduced.

After their initial model, the company offered an extensive line of top-quality commercial and residential faucets and bathing products. Across three renowned brands: Delta, Peerless, and Brizo.

Delta is not just about building amazing faucets. They implement consumer-inspired innovations to transform the way you feel every day.
